My favorite kind of art and design is the one that breaks rules intentionally, yet sticks to function and purpose strictly. That is what I seek to create when I put pen to paper (or stylus to screen). Some of these feature disruptive typography, sometimes illegible or creatively broken. Others feature nothing but texture and color. Each piece has a purpose, whether describing an obscure human emotion, telling a short story, or depicting a ravenous space cloud.

While often I can't bring this level of energy to every commercial project, many of them see a benefit from some of this functional absurdity.
